About Me

I was born and raised in Red Deer and attended the French Immersion program here from Kindergarten to Grade 12.  Both of my parents are retired teachers who also taught here in Red Deer.

After high school, I went on to get my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary, followed by my Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta through the RDC/U of A Middle Years program.  In 2015, I completed my Master of Education degree at the University of Alberta.

I love to travel.  Some of my favourite adventures have been to Kenya, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Panama.  Over the past few years, I have been fortunate to travel to Belize three times with the Rotary Club to work with students and teachers there as part of the "Literacy Alive" project.  While I was there, I also got to venture to Guatamala and Honduras.  This past summer, I went to Hawaii and to Cuba.

Before becoming a teacher, I was a gymnastics coach for 10 years at the Exelta Gymnastics Club.  I enjoy attending fitness and yoga classes, being outdoors (especially in the water), playing basketball, playing tennis, and I love to read.

Before returning to Mountview (where I previously taught Grade 3 for four years), I taught Grade 4/5 at Ecole Barrie Wilson for two years.  This will be my second year back at Mountview as Vice-Principal and I am looking forward to meeting all of our new students and families, as well as seeing some familiar faces!
