I was raised in Red Deer and went through school attending the French Immersion program here at Mountview, Central and Lindsay Thurber. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education in 2011. I completed my Master's Degree in Education with a focus in leadership in 2015. I have taught grades 3, 4, 4/5 and 5. I also taught ESL in Chengdu, China.
Before becoming a teacher, I au-paired in Switzerland for a French speaking family. I also worked in a group home for adults with disabilities for four years. I think these experiences helped me to find my passion of teaching.
I love to travel. I have been to 29 countries so far, but I can't wait to see more of the world. I met my husband while travelling in Asia. He is from Ireland; we travel to his home annually to visit our family. We have been married for nearly eight years. We have two children Poppy and Albie and a dog named Shadow.
In my spare time, I like to look at and create art. We have a studio in our home but I do not get to use it as often as I would like. I also love to read and research on pinterest.
